Yesterday's high temperature was recorded at Heathrow at 100F. That's 37.*9*C, and an absolute record for the hottest temperature ever recorded in Britain. In fact, it's been more than 5 degrees above average for the whole of Europe this summer. So pretty soon you can say goodbye to not just Tuvalu, but Venice and a bunch of other low lying European cities.

Liz and I spent this weekend in the Wirrall, just south of Liverpool, where Liz is from, with her parents. Apparently they've not being seeing the hot weather, though Saturday was definitely near the 30 mark. Sunday morning we woke up to a thunderstorm, however. Thirty people were reportedly struck by lightning, including fifteen at one football game.

Apparently it's been quite cold in the states, which sucks, cause the best thing for the world right now would be if american crops started failing due to too much heat - then they might see what they're doing to the fucking environment and not want an oil baron running the place anymore. As it is, it looks like they're going to keep the World's Most Ignorant Man for the next four years. Oh well, at least he's fixing Israel.. and I'm pretty sure it's not so he can just get cheaper oil and screw things up even more..

Sadly, it looks as though we won't be making it to New York for my birthday anymore, though we are going to a wicked place in Prague instead, which is awesome according to everyone who's ever been there. "Smashed for a pound" a bus driver once told me.

Anyway, the money we're saving will hopefully be enough for me to finally sort out a decent laptop for myself so I no longer have the blue colouration issues I'm getting right now with Liz's Toshiba. I want and Apple (anyone that's met me in the last seven eyars will attest to my long-held desire to make Steve Jobs's dream my own) so if anyone has any advice with the best screens (and really, we're talking about a laptop) then give me a yell.
